To stay in touch with our neighbors in the Ardens, ACRA will be offering a series of virtual events to bring our community together until we can be together again. Join us for a virtual meditation, journaling, and sharing circle this Saturday, May 9 from 1-2 pm:
Location: Online Zoom Meeting. For the Zoom link/password, visit our ACRA Facebook page or e-mail us: acra@acracommunity.org
Technology Requirements: A desktop or laptop computer with internet capabilities, audio capabilities required, camera/video recommended but optional. A Zoom account is optional: https://zoom.us
Ardentown resident Christiana will lead 60 minutes of guided meditation and journaling prompts that explore the attendees’ relationships to water. Water connects us all, even when we feel most isolated from one another. Water relationships to be explored can be anything, such as the ocean, a garden fountain or birdbath, a creek or puddle, a thunderstorm, or even handwashing. The group activities will have an emphasis on rituals of connecting personal reflections to ancestral memory and resilience.
There are no age restrictions for workshop attendees. Participants should be able to do several 5-minute sessions of quiet reflection (gentle movement, sitting, laying down are all fine), as well as several 5-minute sessions of story/memory documentation for themselves (writing, drawing, dance, private audio recording of thoughts/song, etc.). In order to honor any personal stories attendees may choose to share, this workshop will not be recorded.
Christiana began the journey of storykeeper through family traditions before becoming an archivist with more than a decade of experience working with libraries, archives, museums, and grassroots community groups.
